1960 Maserati Birdcage Tipo 61 Race Car
|
|

|
This
was the world's first modern sports racing car. A
concept so revolutionary that the entire automotive
racing world had to change their design plans in
order to compete.
It's lightweight but extremely strong with
suspension, braking, and steering well ahead of its
time. It's equipped with the famous Maserati four
cylinder dual overhead cam engine.
The engine had to be redesigned and slanted at 45
degrees to fit in this incredibly aerodynamic body.
The car has been capable of 177mph top speed.
The icing on the cake is a beautiful sculptured
aluminum body that could just have easily been a
piece of art, showcased in an art gallery. Only 22
of the Tipo 60/61 were ever produced.

1968 Shelby GT500 KR Convertible
|
|

|
In
the early '80s, the original owner decided to send
the car to an auction, where it was stolen by a man
posing as a dealer. As the story goes, the thief was
caught, served his time and was released from
prison. Police watched him in hopes of finding the
missing Mustangs, and in 2000, the man lead them to
a shipping lot, where they discovered all of the
missing Shelby's. This car was one of the Shelby's
recovered.
Missing most of
the interior, the engine and transmission and a lot
of the body parts, it was sold through the police
auction. Bruce bought the car in 2003 and set to
work rebuilding it. Four years later, the
Shelby KR's restoration was complete. It went on to
win First Place at the Houston Autorama in 2007,
Best in Class from the Mustang Club of Houston, and
Second Place at the Tulsa Mid America Shelby Meet.

1957 Aston Martin DB2/4
|
|

|
|

Many
movie fans are familiar with the DB5 driven in the
movie "Goldfinger", and various other Astons in
other Bond movies.
This model is a
1957 Aston Martin DB 2/4. There were 459 cars of
this model made between 1956 and 1959. It was
purchased by the owner's father in 1970, and used as
an everyday car for a couple years. Frank began
restoring the vehicle in 1999.
The car
originally had a single exhaust pipe, but dual
exhaust was chosen as replacement for an additional
16 horsepower and better cooling. It also has a new
wood steering wheel and a fresh set of wire wheels.
An electric fan was added in front of the radiator.
Other than that, and of course modifications to run
unleaded fuel, the car was restored to original
specification.

1967 Ferrari GTB/4
|
|

|
|

This
sports car is a 275GTB/4 edition, one of the only
350 that were made. The car has undergone a complete
and very thorough restoration, and is literally in
"like new" condition.
This car established the architecture of the modern
Ferrari 12 Cylinder GT version, with the 12 Cylinder
4 cam engine in front and the transmission/transaxle
in the rear of the car for better weight
distribution.
The 275GTB/4 uses six dual throat Weber carburetors
to generate 300 horsepower through a 5-speed
transmission. Top speed was clocked impressively at
north of 160 MPH.
